HOW YOU CAN HELP
Polanui Hiu is building an engaged community of volunteer citizen scientists who help monitor reef fish populations. Group members and community volunteers (pictured with Nature Conservancy staff) meet the first Saturday of the month at the Lindsey ‘Ohana residence at 393 Front Street to conduct the surveys. Stop by or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Help protect our ocean resources. With the substantial increase of commercialized recreational activities, leading to over 2000 strikes/collision a year with our reefs according to Polanui Hiu’s one year creel survey, we’ve created visual maps to direct ocean users of the Pono path. Please contact us if you’re interested in obtaining a set of Pono path maps of Polanui.
